By finding us you have taken the first step on a partnership to optimal health. Not only will we do our best to alleviate your presenting complaint, but we will, with your help, get you to a better state of health than before your complaint started. Your health is your most important asset, helping you reach & maintain optimal health is our aim, and with your help, we will succeed. Unlike conventional medicine, which focuses on attempting to treat disease once it occurs, we at Swansea Back Pain Clinic have the ideology of 'preventing' health degrading conditions from occuring in the first place. Once your principal complaint has abated, we will implement maintenance appointments so that not only does the condition not re-occur but you are kept in optimal health for your complete wellbeing.
Your principal therapist
Mr Stephen Smith, BSc (chiro ), DC (occ ), Cert RM ( osm ).
I started my training in Physical Therapies in 1996 and completed a 5 year BSc degree in Mc Timoney-Corley Chiropractic at The Oxford College of Chiropractic & Oxford Brookes University. During that time I also gained a Certificate that qualified me to use Remedial Massage from The Oxford School of Massage. I have worked in my own Clinics in Wales, treating all types of people and ailments with a very high success rate. This is due to my unique multi-therapeutic and holistic treatment program. I use many techniques that I have learned in CPD ( continual professional development ) as an adjunct to my main treatment technique, these include HVT manipulation, Uk, USA, & Japanese Osteopathic techniques, and advanced soft-tissue techniques. It is widely accepted within the field of physical therapies that a multi-therapeutic approach is the only way to treat for optimal health. Manipulation alone does not work, and just soft-tissue therapies don’t either. It is by addressing both, in the same treatment where you get to the root cause of the complaint and have a successful outcome.
You and me in partnership
I will use Neurological and Orthopaedic testing to determine the root cause of your complaint which is gentle and non-invasive. My findings will be explained and a treatment plan put in place.
You will be asked to complete any exercises you are given, and to give me feedback on your complaint as it recedes.
This is our partnership with eachother so you can gain, and maintain optimal health.
